AccountAbility works with partners ranging from government and intergovernment bodies to individual local initiatives to improve the governance and accountability of partnerships.

AccountAbility has endeavoured over the past 5 years to understand how multi-sector development partnerships work, how they perform and under what conditions they are able to function as viable alternatives to existing development systems.

Diverse partnerships are increasingly coming together to address global challenges which can not be addressed by individual organisations or sectors: from HIV/AIDs to poverty to climate change. Public-private partnerships are increasingly, setting new rules for business and non-business players, delivering a growing range of public services and infrastructure. The extraordinary potential of partnerships to deliver on their goals might not be realised if partnerships are not developed and managed credibly and effectively.
